Accessibility
Access for everyone
Stillwell Solutions is committed to making its online resources accessible to all visitors. We continually review our site and modify pages to remove accessibility problems for people with disabilities and to make information more accessible for all users. All of our content is checked for Plain English, and we aim to use a written style which is straightforward and understandable.
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines stipulate that a web design and structure should be accessible to people with Disabilities, detailed in the DDA. Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 can be found at http://www.w3.org/TR/WAI-WEBCONTENT/.
What does it all mean?
We have followed a list of accessibility guidelines when designing this web site and its content to be user accessible for people with disabilities.
In line with the Accessibility Guidelines we have tried our best to:
- Allow visitors to resize all text;
- Maintain a standard layout and navigation system throughout;
- Use headings, paragraphs, lists and other HTML (HyperText Markup Language) to create a logical document structure;
- Use plain backgrounds to improve the readability of text;
- Use 'ALT' attributes on ALL images, and provide a title where appropriate;
- Design layouts to work satisfactorily at a range of screen resolutions; we reommend that this site is viewed at 1024 x 748 pixels and above.
- Provide access keys to allow keyboard navigation to the main areas of the site; ie the use of TAB, SHIFT and CURSOR KEYS.
- Always provide an alternative to scripts or other controls which rely on client device capability.
If you have any suggestions for how to improve the site please e-mail Stillwell Solutions to discuss website accessibility further.
